About Francesco

Francesco is an eclectic multi-award-winning singer, multi instrumentalist, lyricist, author, Vocal improviser and Circlesong leader whose music fuses jazz, Brazilian music and global grooves with Italian melodies. 

 

Praised for his “warm silky vocal timbre” and “incredible improvisation skills” Francesco has performed internationally in prestigious festival and venues such as the Shkodra jazz festival (Albania), Voci audaci (Switzerland), Torrione jazz club (Italy), Time in jazz (Italy), Jazz per le terre del sisma L’Aquila (IT), Nuoro jazz (Italy), San Marino jazz festival (RSM), Rimini Jazz club (IT), Wembley live Sound Shell - London (UK), Paddington live - London (UK), Brixton X Harlem festival London (UK). 

 

Francesco’s musical journey began amidst the harmonious backdrop of his childhood, as the brother of guitarist Antonio Nasone.

 

His formal education In Italy at Ferrara’s and Bologna’s Conservatory music served as a springboard to study and work with some of the greatest musicians and artists in the country and the world.

 

After terminating his musical studies summa cum laude and special distinction with a visionary thesis research on “The narrative improvisation”, he toured around Europe developing the reputation as one of the most interesting voice player of his generation, combining storytelling and deep melodies with an original and acrobatic instrumental use of the voice.

In 2012, Francesco won the special critics award in the International San Marino jazz festival (RSM) and second place at Treviglio jazz (Italy). The following year he won the prestigious “Premio Bettinardi” as best jazz singer (Italy) and in 2014 he’s the winner at Nuoro jazz (Italy).

He performed as guest at International Artistic Voice Meeting “La Voce Artistica” 2013.

 

The original album “Melting Wor(l)ds” released in 2027 with a cappella duo B-Chord is an innovative project of two voices acappella where fine arrangements meets bold improvisations in a melting pot of musical genres “The aesthetics of risk played as a masters of this game” Diana Torto.

In 2018 Francesco moved to London to pursue his interest in spontaneous music and connection with the audience and toured UK with his street music project, exploring the busking spontaneous connection with the people, gaining audience and recognition as a fine storyteller “A modern busker” from the documentary “Francesco Nasone - Modern busker”.

 

The same year Francesco recorded with Euphonia Jazz group, an international jazz band (Switzerland, UK, Italy and Albania), Ahì Na Ma’, an original album where Albanian jazz and International music blended under the creative writing and arrangements of Markelian Kapidani.

 

In 2019 the desire of sharing music ideas, arrangements and music related contents and to connect directly with his audience led Francesco on Youtube, creating a music channel that gained over 500.000 views and counting.

 

The passion for vocal improvisation and spontaneous creation is present throughout Francesco’s career, and manifest itself in many different ways, from the more jazz oriented performances to the total free-genere path and collaborative creation process during his many circlesinging and vocal improvisation workshops and immersive performances.

A good example is his current vocal project “MUZE VOICES”, a visionary concept and immersive experience that break down the traditional boundaries between artists and audiences, inviting active participation and collaboration, creating a truly unique and inclusive musical journey.
